Helio Sells Buddy Beacon Trademark To uLocate
By Carlo Longino - Thu 10 Jan 2008 03:17 PM PST
MVNO Helio has sold the trademark “Buddy Beacon”—the name of its mobile friend-finder service—to uLocate, the company that runs the service, for an undisclosed sum. uLocate will continue to operate Buddy Beacon for Helio, and says it will continue to work with the operator to enhance and expand the service. It doesn’t sound like anything is really changing for Helio, but it’s possible that buying the trademark could allow uLocate to offer the Buddy Beacon service to other operators under the same name. Release.
