HTC Launches MS Touch Screen Phone

Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC has launched a touch-screen phone (HTC Touch) which uses an Microsoft OS and, naturally, is being reported in relation to the soon-to-be-released iPhone. It’s in the UK now and will go to the rest of Europe and Asia this month, reports RCR News. Of course, touch screens aren’t new—Apple drew attention because of its “multi-touch" technology, which claims to make touch screens actually usable. This sort of claim would normally be met with howls of derision, or at least healthy scepticism, but Apple has a reputation for pulling great interfaces out of its hat. HTC also talks about its new touch technology, TouchFLO, which works OK for moving but doesn’t appear to have the pinch-to-zoom capability of the iPhone. The HTC video demos are here, the iPhone ads are here.
