Industry Moves: Hands-On Mobile Hires Ex-Monstermob CEO Niccolo de Masi As President

By Dianne See Morrison - Fri 14 Mar 2008 06:53 AM PST

Mobile games publisher Hands-On Mobile, makers of the popular Guitar Hero III mobile version, has hired ex-Monstermob CEO Niccolo de Masi as president of the company. The 28-year old, who was ousted from the struggling Monstermob last year, has been tapped to drive the company’s expansion, both in the US and internationally. He is also responsible for developing new products and services for new platforms and will report to Hands-On Mobile CEO David White. Hands-On Mobile has gone through its own share of troubles. In October the company restructured after months of turmoil promoting David White to CEO from CFO (release).

what exactly happened to Monstermob is everyone’s question… and the reason behind the Spanish take-over of the board lies within Zed and Monstermob. News reporter here seems like knowing about Monstermob as much as all of us, if not, your view is more from a tinted lense by using the word ‘oust’ , hopefully next time, we can read something more accurate from you.

Hmmm - lets analyze the brilliance of this move.

Launched the top selling mobile game in the business, closed application partnerships with the NBA and other leading industry brands, and most of all - saw 9 months of stability at the most volatile company in the industry.

Naturally - SHAKE UP THE EXECUTIVE TEAM!!!! FAST!!!!

Great! Now he can revamp the business to steal revenue from a whole new set of developers and brands who have their content with Hands-On… Yippie

Maybe they will sell out to Zed and then never reply to another email from the content owners nor even issue past royalty statements much less a check.

    What wonderful news.

Yet another in a long line of “quick fix” executives riding in from the east. Haven’t we seen how this story ends? He’ll make it about 3 months, get fired, and they’ll be on to the next guy.

Everyone seems to know alot about everything these days, well one thing for sure is, whoever making the comments here or reporting the news would not make it to be in the content of the news being reported. At least he has experienced all we poeple here have NOT, and will NOT. Dont get too jealous of him guys, its ok to be one of many, there only so few can be this talented at 27, or 28 anyway.

Very surprised anyone would hire Nicalo after what he did at Monstermob, not the most trustworthy of characters and certainly lost any credibility that he may have had!!!
