Industry Moves: Virgin Mobile USA CMO Leaves; New CMO Appointed

By Rafat Ali - Wed 16 Jan 2008 07:16 PM PST

Howard Handler, who has served as CMO of Virgin Mobile USA (NYSE: VM) since it launched here in U.S. in 2003, is leaving the company. Bob Stohrer, currently VP of Brand & Integrated Marketing, is being upped to the new CMO, the company announced. No specific reason was given, except that it was time for Handler to move, three months after the company went public. Stohrer joined VMUSA in 2003 as VP, Brand & Communications, and was promoted to VP, Brand & Integrated Marketing in 2006.

VMUSA’s share prices has been down ever since its IPO in OCtober, and reached a low in December, though it has climbed back up a bit this month.
