Updated: iPhone Travels To Baltic and Nordic With TeliaSonera

By Rafat Ali - Tue 27 May 2008 07:59 AM PST

Apple’s (NSDQ: AAPL) journey across the world with its sole handset continues: it has tied up with TeliaSonera to bring the iPhone to the Nordic and Baltic markets, specially Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, later this year. No word from the Swedish operator on whether it obtained exclusive rights to sell iPhone, or which model of iPhone (3G?) the deal included. This comes as Apple is widely expected to announce a 3G iPhone on June 9th.

Earlier this month Apple announced a deal with Orange for a deal for Austria, Belgium, Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and its African markets later this year.

UPDATE: Now it appears that the iPhone will also be traveling to the Netherlands. Amsterdam-based Royal KPN said today it “was approached by Apple about selling the iPhone on the Dutch market and, of course, the company is interested.” A spokesman declined to comment on how long the two companies have been in talks.”
