IP Mobile, which was going to be the next mobile carrier in Japan, has filed for bankruptcy protection. The company failed to attract the capital investment needed to launch the service by the required date of November 9, and has offered to return its 3G mobile license to regulators reports Jiji Press. NextWave bought into the company, but sold out again 2 months later.
