— Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Adds Konami Games to N-Gage: Nokia is adding mobile games from electronic entertainment firm Konami to its N-Gage platform. Espionage game Metal Gear Solid will be one of the first games available. (Release).
— Handango Signs Capcom Deal: Smartphone content distributor Handango has struck a deal with gaming firm Capcom Interactive to distribute its games to North American smartphone users. Capcom’s top games include Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Street Fighter and Mega Man, among others (Release).
— EA To Distribute Taito Mobile Games in Europe: EA has signed a deal with Japanese games publisher Taito giving it exclusive distribution and licensing rights to all of Taito’s mobile games in Europe. Taito’s titles include Space Invaders, Puzzle Bobble and Arkanoid (Release).
— Hands-On Mobile Gets BMW Game: Hands-On Mobile said today it has entered into a licensing agreement with BMW and Nürburgring to bring the game BMW Racing to mobile phones this summer. The game—a brand extension for the carmaker—was created by UK developer Finblade (Release).
— Ad-funded Mobile Games Platform 123play.com Launches: Finnish ad-funded mobile games start-up 123play.com has formally launched after rolling out in beta mode in March. The platform, which asks users to view ads in return for games, has titles from THQ (NSDQ: THQI) Wireless, RealArcade, Digital Chocolate, Hands-On Mobile, Vivendi (EPA: VIV) Games Mobile, PlayerX, Indiagames and Progressive Media (Release).
