Mobile Imager ShoZu Raises $12 Million Third Round

By Joseph Weisenthal - Tue 29 Jan 2008 10:15 AM PST

London-based ShoZu, which allows users to easily move camera phone photos to sites such as Flickr and Facebook, has raised a biggish $12 million third round of funding led by SEB Venture Capital. Also participating were previous investors Atlas Ventures, Crescendo Ventures and TTP Ventures. The service last announced a $12 million round in in 2005, when it was known as Cognima. It was originally launched in 2001 by Simon East, who was previously at Symbian. The company predicts that its application will ship pre-installed on 50 million phones in 2008 and it claims to be receiving 100,000 new users per month, a number that’s been doubling every quarter. In 2007, the company inked deals with Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Samsung. Release.
