MobiTV And Sony BMG Team For Artist Sites

By James Quintana Pearce - Fri 08 Jun 2007 02:06 AM PST

Sony BMG Music Entertainment has signed a deal with MobiTV to create a series of ad-sponsored customized channels featuring original video programming for the label’s artists. The first one is for Avril Lavigne at the site mobitv.com/avril. The video content for the sites will include long-form concerts, genre and artist-driven shows, and so on often created by the artist—some of the content will be charged for. Avril’s site will include her entire video library, mobile versions of her comic book Avril’s Make 5 Wishes, her biography, photo gallery, and links to buy content like ringtones and wallpapers. It’s sponsored by CBS. The agreement between the two companies also includes adding more than 2,500 music videos from Sony BMG to MobiTV’s service. (release)
