More Advertisers Line Up For Vodafone Mobile Ad Platform

By Peggy Anne Salz - Thu 03 May 2007 06:08 AM PST

Domino’s Pizza and Yell.com have begun negotiations with Yahoo to appear on Vodafone’s ad platform, New Media Age reports. (sub.req.) Yahoo is handling the sales platform for Vodafone as it rolls out its mobile advertising and ad-funded offers. (Yahoo is also said to be looking into selling targeted advertising within Vodafone’s mobile TV service. Yahoo already has a similar arrangement to sell ads for MobiTV.) Combine today’s scoop with the news earlier this month that Vodafone has entered negotiations with an unnamed soft drinks producer and a carmaker to ad-funded content and campaigns, and that makes four major brands getting serious about mobile advertising with Vodafone. Ad opportunities are broad and include a mix of banner ads and idle screen placements s well as opportunities to sponsor mobile content. Behavioral and contextual targeting will be phased in over time.
