@ MWC Wire: Mobile Web Search Growing, Zyb Social Phone Book, mBlox Figs

By Robert Andrews - Mon 11 Feb 2008 12:33 PM PST

- Downloads: More research, this time from mobile search and ad vendor Medio, says mobile web searches now have more momentum than searches for downloadable content. Though downloads remained the most popular search result in H207 at 60 percent, these searches declined 10 percent while mobile web search grew 43 percent. No methodology was given.

- mBlox: Mobile transaction network mBlox announced it enabled over two billion transactions throughout 2007. That includes SMS billing, premium SMS etc.

- Zyb: Denmark-based mobile address book backer-upper Zyb unveiled its “social phonebook” - an app that includes contacts’ current availability and lifestreams from Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm et al. Sounds like Zyb is becoming a mobile version of Plaxo.
