Nokia Signs Local Search Deals In Latin America
By James Quintana Pearce - Wed 31 Oct 2007 04:24 PM PST
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has launched local search services in 15 countries across Latin America, making the information accessable from the main display (on a supported handset). It’s also integrated with Nokia Maps on some handsets. Nokia has teamed with Publicar in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, with ListaOnline in Brazil and Seccion Amarilla in Mexico. Nokia has relatively little marketshare in Latin America and its sales are falling, but its multimedia segment is growing fast—from a small base. (release)
