Orange Offering Free Access To Facebook And MySpace To Drive Usage Of Orange World Portal

By Dianne See Morrison - Thu 24 Apr 2008 06:48 AM PST

Orange is dangling free access to Facebook and MySpace to its pre-pay users in hopes of driving up usage at its Orange World portal, reports NMA.co.uk. It has also signed a deal with mobile social net Flirtomatic. The three new social net additions joins Bebo, which has been available on the portal since October. Customers will get full access to the social nets with the free access tariffs and will be rewarded with extra browsing time each time they top up. Orange believes that they can increase traction of mobile data if users are sold “services” rather than just “data bundles.” Orange World sees an average of 300,000 daily repeat visitors, according to the company.
