ROK Entertainment Takes 51 Percent Stake In Geniem

Mobile video firm ROK (LSE: ROK) Entertainment Group has acquired a 51 percent controlling stake in Finnish mobile and web applications developer Geniem for an undisclosed amount. Rok Group CEO Laurence Alexander said their acquisition would boost their existing mobile services portfolio. Five year old Geniem specializes in on-device portals (ODP), Bluetooth marketing, and creates white label social networking applications for brands and carriers. Its technology is available on 15 million phones around the world, where it is being used by the likes of Nokia (NYSE: NOK), Volvo, Samsung and SonyEricsson (NSDQ: ERIC) among others (release).
