Russian Mobile Content Firm Playfon Buys Social Net Wappy.to

Playfon, the major Russian mobile content player, has bought local mobile social networking service Wappy.to, for a reported deal value of about $5 million. Wappy.to is a mobile video and photo sharing community site, and was created in Denmark in 1999 as a tool to build WAP sites, according to the Quintura blog. Playfon operates in UK, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Baltic States.
