Sony Buys Gracenote For $260 Million

Sony (NYSE: SNE) Corp of America has bought Gracenote, the media metadata and tech firm which has been around since 1998, for about $260 million and more based on contingencies. The deal is expected to close in May. Gracenote has music identification technology which is used by Samsung and Sony Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC), amongst others. PaidContent has more on the purchase.
