Sprint TV To Offer Ad-Supported Mobilecasts From CBS

By David Kaplan - Fri 23 Mar 2007 09:44 AM PST

CBS Interactive and Sprint are teaming up to offer live mobilecasts and mobisodes on Sprint TVSM. The programming will be ad-supported. Under the terms of the agreement, CBS will handle the negotiations for all ads across its programming on the Sprint TV platform. The ads will appear as brief commercials before the clips and as spots within the live simulcast of CBS Evening News With Katie Couric. CBS is also offering full episodes of the drama series Jericho, a show about a small midwest town living in the aftermath of nuclear explosions across the U.S. Other content includes clips from dozens of CBS shows like all the CSI shows, Survivor, and The Late Show With David Letterman as well as material owned by CBS Paramount library, which will provide clips of retro fare like The Brady Bunch and I Love Lucy

cool.  there isn’t much stuff on it now & the paid stuff doesn’t seem worth it.  i’d watch late night clips

I’m all for ad-supported content, I think in the long run there’s no way that paid content will be as sucessful as it could be.

sounds great, nothing better than having more choices. no problem with ads, even cable is loaded with infomirsals on top of monthly fees!
