The spate of mobile TV service launches continue, even as the user and business case for any of them are still unproven: Swisscom has launched its mobile TV service, Bluewin TV mobile, in Switzerland using DVB-H and working with Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Nokia Siemens Networks. The service is available on Nokia N77 devices through the operator...the viewers have a choice of 20 channels, including SF1, TSR1 and Eurosport. Swisscom’s DVB-H broadcasts reach about 44 percent of the Swiss population, mostly in the area of Basel, Berne, Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne it says. Customers outside the DVB-H coverage area or without DVB-H handsets can receive Bluewin TV mobile on the Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) live! portal using UMTS/EDGE, which covers 99.8 percent of the population.
