THQ Acquires Finnish Mobile Games Developer

THQ, which had been downsizing it mobile operations for the last year or so, it now trying to build it up again: it has bought Finland-based mobile game development studio Universomo for an undisclosed sum. “Bringing cross-platform mobile development capabilities in-house is a key component in our growth strategy,” said Kelly Flock, EVP of worldwide publishing, THQ.
I suspect it was the porting solution more than anything else which clinched the deal. I’m pretty sure the two companies have worked together before, such as with Lego Star Wars. (release)
