Tiny Pictures Gets $7.2 Million Second Round For Cameraphone Sharing

By Joseph Weisenthal - Mon 25 Feb 2008 01:06 PM PST

SF-based Tiny Pictures, the developer of the Radar cameraphone image sharing service, has raised a $7.2 million second round led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, with participation from previous backer Mohr Davidow Ventures. The company’s total raise is now $11.2 million, having previously taken $4 million from MDV, as well as angels Reid Hoffman and Joi Ito. The Radar service allows users to easily upload a photo to the Radar site, where it is viewable by friends on phones or PCs. The company, which has relationships with T-Mobile, Danger, RIM (NSDQ: RIMM) and others will use the funding to expand internationally. There are lots of companies operating in similar areas, including Nokia (NYSE: NOK), through its Mosh service, and ShoZu, which links a user’s images with his or her Flickr account. Release.
