Aside from the shenanigans in Germany there’s a fair few other Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) snippets around at the moment:

-- Rumors are rife that Vodafone will offer the 3G iPhone in Italy according to Italian site Morse.it via Unwired View. Not just in Italy, but in fact globally. The 3G UMTS iPhone will be announced after Xmas to avoid spoiling the sales of current iPhones, and will be offered exclusively by Vodafone in all the countries in which it operates. Except, of course, that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) already has several exclusive agreements with other operators in countries where Vodafone operates. The rumor covers this by claiming the current agreements are only for the iPhone, not for the 3G iPhone...Personally, I find this last detail hard to believe.

-- There’s some pricing for Vodafone’s InsideOut feature, which (though in beta) has been around for a while and lets people call and SMS into and out of Second Life. Engadget pegs the SMS at L$300 and voice calls at L$300 a minute—they estimate L$300 is roughly US$1, which would make it a pretty expensive service.

-- Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin has indicated he hopes to use the Chinese Government’s planned restructuring of the telco sector to increase Vodafone’s share of the industry, reports FT. Vodafone has a 3 percent stake in China Mobile which it bought for $3 billion and is now worth $13 billion, and he is hopeful he can swap it for a larger minority share is a smaller competitor.
