DoCoMo Goes With RealNetworks

DoCoMo and RealNetworks have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will see DoCoMo deploy RealNetworks’ Mobile Streaming Server, which will be added to the telco’s V-Live service, which has been going since 2002.
“The enhanced V-Live service would create an open environment to enable content providers (CPs) to use their own multi-format, cross-platform Helix Mobile servers, to stream video content over the Internet to FOMA handsets.”
