InfoWorlds’ Mobile Predictions For 2007

By James Quintana Pearce - Thu 21 Dec 2006 02:43 PM PST

Infoworld has released its predictions for 2007 for the mobile and wireless market. They predict more wireless networks (WiFi and WiMax) competing for the mobile dollar, but also being bundled with mobile and every other form of digital communication and media. A lot of the other predictions are fairly certain… More people will use mobile e-mail, search and discovery will become more important, social networks will become more mobile. They also predict the convergence of mobile and home phones, which would be good. Cheaper but more powerful handsets and networks will also lead to an uptake in mobile media, although mobile TV is expected to be a flop.
