Jeff Mirkin Productions (which has produced such hits as Fox’s Greed, GSN’s Poker Royale and NBC’s remake of Let’s Make a Deal) has signed up CommerceTel to add interactive elements to the shows via mobile phones. However, the first shows to use the interactive elements haven’t been announced—although they will be by the end of the year. CommerceTel has a CallForContent system that uses phone calls rather than text messages.
“We will be able to specifically design shows that entertain and engage viewers with truly exciting features that go beyond voting to include contest entry, coupon distribution, as well as ringtone, screensaver and video content downloads. The benefits to television producers in terms of their ability to attract, develop and retain viewers is invaluable,” said Jeff Mirkin, CEO of Jeff Mirkin Productions in the press release.
