Singapore’s Mobile Comics Contest

By James Quintana Pearce - Fri 02 Feb 2007 06:48 AM PST

The Singapore government is supporting mobile comics via its Media Development Authority with Comi Idol—a contest where Singaporeans can showcase their comics and digital artwork, on mobiles. The project is supported by Singapore Polytechnic, ITE College Central and LASALLE-SIA College of Arts, and contestants can win prizes worth up to S$10,000. A number of governments are supporting mobile content, but this is the first I’ve heard of one supporting mobile comics.
