Just when a KPMG survey predicted a gloomy picture for mobile content worldwide, here is a study from PayPal and Datamonitor that says that the mobile services download market in the UK could treble from £380 million in 2005 to £1.14 billion by 2010. It means increased consumer spending on mobile services such as music, movie clips and mobile TV. In 2005, ringtones, realtones and screensavers made up for two-thirds of mobile content spend, while games accounted for the rest. By 2010, this will change as mobile music will account for £200 million, with full-track music contributing the most. Besides, video downloads will contribute 11% to the revenues by 2010, the report said.
