Warner Music has teamed up with Catalyst Mobile, a music and entertainment services provider with a sharp focus on Asia, to launch the Warner Music Group Rhino Mobile service to NTT DoCoMo subscribers. Earlier this month Warner formally announced the Rhino service and its ambitions to target the Japanese market.
The Rhino Mobile service isn’t just about downloading music; it includes search, recommendation and preview functionality. It also features exclusive content including trivia ("This Day in Rock History"), and invites music critics to contribute their opinions to a Featured Artists Corner destination on the portal. The Rhino Mobile service will be available beginning today to NTT DoCoMo subscribers with FOMA series handsets. The service is subscription based, with prices starting at 315 yen per month (US$2.62).
